It was actually me that wrote the Jan 3 comment. Others stating what God will do after death annoys me. No-one knows for a fact what happens after death, so others stating what God will do after death pisses me off sometimes. -There are really NO minorities in the film with the exception of James Avery, who played the FBI investigator. I would think that a town fictionally called "Santa Mira" would have at least some minority students even if they were extras, yes? That being said on the other hand, you could chalk up her motive for killing to having been dealing with problems and anxiety that are typical 1st world and typical white girl insecurities.

-I have read "Jeanette Tomanka's" blog and her self righteous stories and advice about herself and her kids kinda irk me. "My son gave up his seat on the bus for someone, look at me, mom of the year"

-An 18" knife is absurdly huge, even by a chef's standards. Can anyone even verify this? I even looked on amazon.com to see if a knife this size was available to buy and they are available but ridiculous.

-I am amazed by how so many things went overlooked and unchecked in the 1st 6 months of the investigation, even with the circumstantial evidence available. Blonde hair, age, car model, and bobbie member status should not have had the polygraph results negate any of it. She is extremely lucky to have salvaged 6 more months of freedom, especially as a young teen.

-I had read in one of the news articles that she actually asked the FBI detective if she was going to be sent back to Miramonte for school. How deluded can a murderer be?

-I see many posts on here trying to villify the sister about the knife. We cannot pretend to know if she was 100% involved but my guess is that she is sleeping fine at nighttime about the crime just like Jeanette.

I went to high school a decade later in the 90s, had a Christian upbringing, am white and was an unpopular "gleek" and I feel really blessed that i was not plagued by these problems.

They blamed them guys cause they werent part of the social scene. 1 girl was ran out for messing around with a bunch of guys, they ran her out over her bad reputation, some felt bad for her, some did"nt, you make your own reputation sometimes. Thats how Miramonte could be to outsiders.

She would call me upset over Kirsten s remark over her ski's, or Kirsten did not talk to her and she talked to this person, but not me. Stupidity like that, should of saw that as a sign. Kirsten sometimes would'nt talk to me as much as she talked to Diane, I didnt worry about it. Or Bernadette would call upset saying nobody likes her, and say she is so ugly I got annoyed. Once she called I told her she had the wrong number and just hung up. She got mad and wouldnt talk to me for a week. I didnt mean to be rude, I just didnt have time to baby her. Thats what she did always nobody liked her, Kirsten wasnt around her much to notice it, when she did it was to late.

Bernadette went to private grade school called St. Perpetua’s in Lafayette Ca. Next to Orinda. The school was a freak show. The priests were rapist. One was transferred there because of problems with boys. Word was that girls were safe because raping a girl is irresponsible and could get them fired because girls could get pregnant and priest need to bring money in, not pay out for 18 years. So start the story there. Her parents poor,.. yes, but spent money on that. Interesting. It was a strange time growing up around religious freaks. The judgemental insecurities started there for Bernadette and everyone else that was raised in those conditions.

I didn’t know Kirsten very well. She was friends with my sister, came around our house a few times. I do remember she was very insecure and would pick on B clearly an attempt to boost her confidence. Sad because K had it all as I saw it. I do remember all the stories before and after the killing. Who knows what was true or not. But I do know that two families had to move out of town because the girls wore all black and kept to them selves.. Believe me it was a 6 month witch hunt. I remember the day every girl attended school when the killer had been caught but we had no name; if they had to fly back, leave the hospital, watever, no girl wanted to be accused for even 24 hours even if they would be exonerated the next day or week. that HS was a tough place especially for girls.

Word around town was that K was stabbed 18 times. I believe that the real number was held by the cops. I remember one time coming back from skiing, my friend and I were saying how we should stab the killer 18 times for what she did. Obviously we didn’t know B was the killer. She threw up sour cream and onion chips. Smelled so bad. Couldn’t get the smell out of car for weeks. B was so quiet of a person we figured just talking about something like that made her sick.

Between 10-15 years ago bullying came into the news. i remember always thinking that B’s case would had been much different today. I still can’t help from thinking that, but largely I think B killed K because K was blocking B from her rise in popularity.

L does not ever want to see Bernadette ever again, neither do I, Stacy,Diane and Carrie feel the same way. I know cause Diane was Kirsten's bff. Stacy was also and Carrie. Stacy said she was crying and Bernadette hugged her saying it will be alright, were all together here for one another. Kirsten probaly would of told about Bernadeyte"s weird conversation, but she would.of just told us friends, by school year it would been forgotten. Kirsten did not care if Bernadeette was popular or not. As for Kirsten insecure, she had alot of self confidence. Like I said before "she was good at embarrassing people in front of boy's" thats just how she was. Showoff. She was not a mean bully, and even if she was, still no right to take her life. Kirsten sometimes came at people the wrong way, not realizing it, she never meant harm, but, like I said she pulled no punches. Berit was a babydoll. Art fixed us pancakes for breakfast once. They were like a mom and dad to all of us. In fact I think Bernadette once went to Kirstens house with her childhood friend. People made a big deal out of Kirsten and some made her a bully, they just really did'nt know her or the real her. She was hard to get to know, took me a year to get to know her and befriend her, she was not friendly but once I knew her loved her. She really cared about people. Her little brother Peter she would watch him sometimes when we were 13, met her when we were 12, I did'nt like her at first myself, got to know her better 8th grade. Id go.to her house while she was watching Peter. Sometimes Diane would be there, we would sit laugh and talk. I loved those days. Sometimes Kirsten's friends would call her Diane and I would talk to Peter, so much fun. We went out alot Kirsten, Diane, Stacy, Carrie N, Bernadette's childhood friend and LP. Bernadette and her bff went with us a few times. We would go to the movies or see concerts it was fun. Diane was a flirt. Year before Nancy went to dances with us. But us girls get together and laugh and have fun, but after Kirstens death, things were falling apart. Bobbies disbanded after the arrest, and from that point on, things were never the same, no more fun, and we hardly ever went out after that. Senior Year was alright, just so many dramatic changes and it took a huge toll on us. We made the best of it as we could. Graduation was not the same without Kirsten and the arrest. I was kind of glad to get out cause of bad memories, that could of been very well prevented if a certain girl was'nt so desperate for popularity and accepted who she was. Thats what Bernadette took from all her friends. "You can only imagine the pain we went through the last 2 years of school"... We never went out much after that, we only had the Bobbies. till they disbanded. Mr and Mrs Costas suffered the most, and Peter.

It was a real shame, the events that transpired that evening on June 23rd that led to such a violent and tragic end to Kirsten's young and vibrant life. She had so much left to offer the world. Being a teenager is tougher on some than it is on others, but Kirsten didn't deserve by any means, what happened to her. What really counts here, is that her real friends and family know who she really was and nothing anyone says negatively about Kirsten can ever change that. Kirsten was loved and will always be missed by them. Thank you Britt, for having this blog "tribute" for Kirsten's memory. You have a good heart to do such a thing. I offer Kirsten, her friends, and family, my deepest condolences and Peace to you all.

Kirsten wouldn't want to hear that over and over. Bernadette was good and obsessed with people not liking her... Kirsten.wanted to have fun, " she was very bouncy and upbeat" so no she wouldn't want to baby a 15 year old at all. We all love her and miss her. Like I said there was only 2 she did'nt really like, but if they were in trouble she would of helped them, and if they changed, she would of accepted them anf gave them the benefit of the doubt, she didn't hold grudges, she wasn't.that way. So the people saying things about her did not know her like we did, her classmates well our classmates can back it for us. Bernadette wouldn't of course not. Bernadette let 2 innocent girls take the blame without blinking an eye. That movie was pro Bernadette, cause they felt sorry for Bernadette. Like I said, even if Kirsten was that mean, still gives no right for her to be murdered. We all have someone we.dont like, stay away from them. If Kirsten hurt Bernadette's feelings she and Kirsten should of talked it out. I doubt Kirsten realized she upset her, she was just like that. We all make.mistakes, "murder isnt one of them" for something that was'nt even important. Kirsten did'nt tell the man who Bernadette was, I doubt she would of made her a laughing stock, by the time school started it would of been blowm over and forgotten. She would of told me, Stacy, Diane and Carrie maybe and tell us not to tell. Bernadette was insecure fearful of being a reject, like I said she took things personal till it became personal.

Kirsten she was all about fun, going to concerts, and hanging out after ballgames all of us, and go out to eat, laugh all the time. go to shows alot.and parties on Saturday nights at whoever was throwing one, just fun stuff. Our weekends were spent at football or basketball games, or parties at a football players house or basketball player. Kirsten was on the swim team and ran track as well. Bernadette went to a few parties at houses, and went with all of us to a movie once or twice. My anonymous you can refer to me as L Dawg. I wont give my name cause people patrol this site and would internet harrass me over it. Those were the days I use to really miss them, some ways I still do, but as I said were all older and have families, and it wont be the same again. I learned to accept that, lots of kids left State and moved on with thier lives. I have a good job I like is an office in SF. Been there 25 years. Love it.

I read that MRS Costas was sick for a long time after Kirsten's murder.....so again no sympathy for Bernadette. She is updating her FB again so she must not be that depressed. Why do you think Bernadette is still psychotic, If you don't mind me asking?

Bernadette resented Kirsten for accomplishing her goals and probably thought Kirsten's success was somehow blocking her own ability to go further in her attempts at her goals. Let alone the sheer brutality of the attack against an unarmed Kirsten who was substantially smaller than BP and wouldn't have been able to do too much against her assailant to protect herself. BP didn't show any sympathy towards Kirsten that evening when for undisclosed reasons as of yet, she stalked her back home from the church parking lot and decided to take Kirsten's young life away from her forever. Kirsten's parents and brother still suffer to this day, I'm certain, especially around this time of year June 23rd is very close. They never really got justice for Kirsten. The rage and inability to control it, leading to murder, that BP displayed that evening makes her very dangerous in my opinion and she should have been locked up for life. The fact that she is free and has a family is somewhat disturbing. Who knows what might set her off next time.

She didn't want to get in trouble and jeopardize her chance of becoming a cheerleader, and getting into a good college. Thats why she was picky about her friends. Bernadette wasn't poor like Leela stated, Bernadette lived on Orinda hill in a nice home, they had lots of money, and nice clothes, maybe not as rich as sone. They were well to do. Thats how she got in the Bobbies. Bernadette was as popular as Kirstens friend Diane. Now a girl there came from lower middle class her dad worked on cars, had moss on thier roof. She was bullied, not by Kirsten, Kirsten told people leave her alone. Another girl middleclass was bullied not by Kirsten. One was goth like Nancy, other wasn't very pretty or smart. Orinda was a community that wanted uppee middle class and kuds who did well, or you weren't accepted. Bernadette wasn't that kid, she was popular at Miramonte, almost as popular as Kirsten, Karen K. Kirsten W and Carolyn our homecoming queen. They were at the very top, Bernadette, Diane and them was a step behind them.

Did Kirsten see the "I want to see your blood drip, drip" comment on Nancy's notebook. I feel bad for Nancy, but at least she was able to give as good as she got. I don't see her as a victim of Kirsten, I see her as a victim of Bernadette. Kirsten and Nancy would have grown out of antagonising each other. I have no sympathy for Bernadette. There was just no excuse for her killing Kirsten. None.

I'm sure that most of the negative comments are from people with low self esteem who still believe that people like Kirsten were the cause of their inferiority complexes. High school life is tough for some and fun for others but it's over so fast it doesn't really matter. No one is who they where in school. We all grow up eventually. Kirsten was the victim here and people should remember that. The blame game doesn't help anyone. At the end of the day Bernadette made choices that led her down this path, no one else. She is responsible and putting it out of her mind will not change that. That is a matter of record. Her excuse that " I couldn't let her tell, I couldn't let her tell" wasn't justification to take Kirsten's life. The truth is out there to find, just look. Kirsten's reputation can't be tarnished by anyone. She was who she was.

She wasn't nothing like Regina George, Stacy Lockwood in the movie. 2nd Death of a Cherrleader, she was a little like Kelly Lock but a little more funnier and nicer. I will find out if Bernadette's depressed, probaly to attract sympathy. She should be if she isn't. Mrs. Costas was down to Earth and so funny, told jokes, cut up with us kids, she would smack us in the butt and run and hide. Kirsten had her sense of humor. Went by Kirsten's she would flip me and tease me, I flipped her back, she got Berit, Betit asked me if I had license to fly it. Her dad was nice, he could be direct like Kirsten, speak his mind and let you know how he felt. Sometimes he could say things to make ypu mad. Berit was a doll. We would play music she would come out dancing and hollaring. She was hilarious, Kirsten got that from her. Rest Peacefully Kirsten.

Even the homecomimg queen Carolyn soe girls say she was nasty to them. Can't picture that one. The point isvwe all can't get along, no excuse to kill. I did hear Bernadette struggles with depression. Now KJ always wanted to reconnect with Bernadette, childhood friend did to for years, heard she outgrew her. She just missed old times we had a ball, her childhood friend was conceplating on Kirsten as well missing her, dont think she really knew what she wanted. It was just a tradgedy that changed our lives, dealing and struggling. Bernadette was fun to with her childhood friend. Bernadette isn't coming back here, she needs to stay where she's at, She went to SF years ago to see her sister. So those haters who's bashing Kirsten, bet you never ever said an unkind word.to anyone. Thats disrespectful.
