Think Kirsten and Carolyn and them were misunderstood by people. They didntn see unpopular kids like unpopular kids saw themselves. They never gave them much thought. Umpopular kids though people like Kirsten was stuck up and looked down on them all the time, when truth is they didn't think about them that much, or look at them as oddballs. Thats not how it went at all. Kirsten felt sorry for some of those kids. She tried to helpna few of them. We sat with a girl at lunch who was crying no one liked her, Kirsten told her she did, and not to let those people get to her, she's better than that. This is something you may want to consider the girl on Leela's page that said Kirsten bullied Bernadette. Like I said, they went back and forth being friends.

Orinda hates her here, that's why she don't want no contact with Orinda people or former classmates, they would spit on her and throw rocks at her. They would of at Kirstens trial. but didnt want charged with "Disruption in the Courthouse" she was "humilated" people looked real mean and glared at her and several Students were interviewed and voiced thier opinion on the News. Several hollared Life, a few said "Death". Im sure Bernadette and her family saw it on the news, Bernadette said in a interview" over 500 people want to shoot me now" she was horribly hated and knew it. I have no tears for her, do for Kirsten. What video is this of Victoria Costas. Mrs Costas would be glad to have a granddaughter. Berit would spoil her.

A similar case to Kirstens. Like Kirsten Missy was the only girl, hear Mrs. Avila has a granddaughter also. Those 2 went through hell Missys mom and Berit. Karen and Laura got 15 to life, but are out jow. Our justice system is crooked.

She was partying with a few, " party got out of hand" (she had to leave school to). I m not sure if it's before or after Kirstens death. She was demonized around school, and was harrassed like Joanna and Nancy were. "Miramonte is like any school"( you become thier enemy they're done with you, "and they will run you out". It's sad for teen girls to go through all that, that's the time you should be enjoying.yourself, and having fun with friends, not being chased around to get you out. But she shouldn't of voluntarily went along with those guys and got drunk. I hear that she, DJ, and Joanna had PTSD as a result of thier getting heavily bullied. They had trouble dealing with ir. I guess bullying traumatises a person for a long time, if not forever. Bernadette didn't go through anything like that. Just one snide remark, and she went Ape over it. These girls were called names, hit and kicked and spat on. They were relentlessly bullied. There was a total of 6 girls who were bullied the most. That was all to. "They're cracking down on bullying" to many kids killing themseles,( or shooting in schools). It does something to a person, cause that girl who went out with 5 football player's, she got upset when someone brought it up. No one has heard from her, probaly like some of the other's don't want to be heard from.

Virginia helped her cover up the crime (blood and all) cause Bernadette couldn't do it all by herself. She probaly told her how to get rid of the evidence. She carried a butcher knife in her car to cut Vegetables!!!!!! Highly unlikely scenario.!!!!!!! No one believes that. No one will ever forget the crime. So she wants to hide under a disguise, well she did that with a name change. She needs to come clean and face what she did.... Not saying come back here to live, but stop running from the past, tell people why you did it, show you're remorseful over it, stop referring as a "lifehacker", and posting on your page,"Oh what a beautiful day this is today" on Kirstens fateful date. Thats sickening. Hiding is a cowards way out. Then get people feeling sorry cause it was a bullying issue. (No it wasn't), and even if so, no right to murder. If she'd left Kirsten alone, (not took things so seriously), Kirsten would still be alive today probaly and Bernadette would of probaly made cheerleading the following year. Bernadette never experienced what those girls experienced, she wasn't really bullied. Those girlsl had it very rough in high school, to where they were transferred. Nancy had problems dealing with people accusing her of murder, thanks to Bernadette. Her so called bff wasn't really bullied like those other girls. There's even happened in town people shunning them and harrassing them. Its was a bunch of kids not just a few. I felt bad for them. Bernadette don't feel bad for anyone except herself. " Bernadette looks out for Bernadette" and no one else. She's still a selfish Witch. She probaly has Gary convinced it was over bullying. Well I just told about those other girls, they really were bullied, it left an impact on all of them.. DJ dont want to hear from anyone from school, Joanna didn't for years, and couldn't talk about it, that other girl has depression and gets angry easily, or she did, and she was paranoid, none of them killed. Bernadette was one of them, but I don't know who would want her to come back to Miramonte or attend a Reunion, all I have to say is, " who in the world would miss her that bad and want to see her" she was trouble then. she still is. Yes she was once a nice girl and fun(she isn't that way anymore) hasnt been in many years. She murdered all over appearances( in other words afraid Kirsten would make her look bad). Kirsten would of grown out of it long before now, and been a big member in society, gone to college, had a family and career she loved! No Bernadette robbed her of all that. No cause to do that, all because Kirsten didn't like her. She never gave Bernadette much thought, she did other things and enjoyed life, (which again was robbed from her). Beenadette got off way to easily. Kirsten had circles of friends and (so did Bernadette) so Bernadette didn't have to bother Kirsten. They potrayed the Costas as snobs in the movie. beg to differ there "a fun family" yes Mrs Costas and her supporters and friends were down on Bernadette, "what do you expect, them to welcome her with open arms." They were more into practicing cheerleading and swimming. Like I said, Kirsten had only a few she didn't like at least 3 girls. She talked with 1 of them before her murder, guess they ironed things out. She did like Nancy at first. That all changed when Nancy changed her image. I don't think they ever mended though (thier ways). Some people rubbed Kirsten the wrong way, she let them know it. One girl acted like a baby, (in high school) and said she felt like she was in a glass wall watching people have fun. That happens in all school. Kirsten didn't give her thought, or even talk about her to people. She was immature for her age(that girl) and Kirsten didn't fool with her, or pay attention at all. High School is a time of fun and excitement, we don't play on the playground anymore, so if you're going to play on the playground, go back to gradeschool. That girl had a couple friends, she wasn't completely ignored. I don't actually know of one single person at Orinda who was without a single friend. Even Nancy and Joanna had friends. I didn't know any loners, one girl was, but she wanted to study more than have friends, very smart girl, we liked her, :she just made friends with the books" instead. She wanted into Stamford and gave up friends and weekends so she could get on. She's a Doctor now. But her choice to be a loner. I guess to each it's own. Bernadette was surrounded by friends. She was popular, (no where near being an outcast) she was in the Bobbies, and on the track team. She was also a honor student. She was friends with most of Kirstens friends. She was friends with Stacy and Diane even and Amy as well. Not to mention her bff. Even Nancy and Bernadette were friends. I don't think Joanna was her friend, or the childish acting girl. Bernadette didn't want to be saddled with them. She wanted to be at the top. She didnt want people who weren't at the top (other than Nancy) and her bff. Her bff was kind of bullied by some girls, and Bernadette helped her, same with Nancy, that's why Nancy was shocked over Bernadette. That childish girl considered Bernadette "stuck up"(She considered Kirsten stuck up as well), well if you're not at the top, (you consider yourself a failure).

We had quite a few girls who were nerds and acted immature. They were all nice, I just don't think it's appropriate to call them out. On the deadliest decade that close confident was not the actual person, or her name, they somehow changed it for protection purposes. There is no Ashley Mayfield, they staged the name and picture. I know who it is. Kirsten was a great swimmer, so was Marcie Fuller who recently passed away. She was a good friend of Kirstens as well. Ashley Mayfield real life girl we loved her she was another Kirsten. She loved to hug as well. She was a Bobbette and Atlanthis as well. "Those days were glory days":.... As for B, they dont include her in conversations at all..She's pointless to us. She destroyed alot of good memories for all of us(esp.the Costas) so her bff that stuck up for her, (after that)she was unpopular, no one would fool with her. We were told by Principal Yaich not to discuss the case, not to harrass the bff over it or we would be in trouble. They would get up when she came to sit with them at a table for awhile. Her bff was smart to. Senior year it blew over, cause everyone knew this would be our last year together,so, we made the best of it. Nancy came back to. She felt they were all still against her, they weren't. Joanna was back, the kids were nice to her and said hi to her in the halls to. And the invisible girl that watched us through a glass wall, they noticed her more to. The one who got the football players in trouble, she didn't come back, she wasaround still, some of the kids spoke when they saw her, (others still shunned her) they were mad at her for getting that started. She was popular (kind of) till all that came about. The new movie about Death of a Cheerleader, that girl who played Kirsten if her hair was black, she d fit Kirsten. Her personality was a little like Kirstens. Lisa Turtle AKA Lark Voohries was the best. Jessie AKA Elizabeth Berkley would of been the best to portray the curly hair and all, more than Tori Spelling. Stacy Lockwood was mean and stuck up, Kirsten wasn't like that period. On the swim team Kirsten would tease and splash people. I told you in other article comments, yes Kirsten didn't get along with some of the girls, she didn't hate them, she didn't like the way they acted and told them.. If they were right she'd stick up for them.. She tried to give them the "benefit of doubt". Kirsten wasnt about foolishness she was a serious person.

It was beautiful to, Bernadette lived in a bigger home Brown wood home spacious lots of land to. She had more sisters and a brother than Kirsten. Area is nice its expensive ( just like Kirstens).

If we never see Bernadette again, "it's still way to soon"... She hurt alot of people through her actions ( mostly the Costas family). At Court, most people there was family and friends of the Costas family, they wanted to see Bernadette thrown in the "Lions Den"... Judge felt sympathetic towards Bernadette, cause of the spectators cowarded there. (They wanted Justice served) of course, they couldn't say anything to her(or yell) by any means, they would be charged with Contempt of Court. They made her feel like the garbage she is though. She deserved it. Kirstens closest friend on 1980s Deadliest Decade her photo was Altered. Her name was changed to. Probaly to protect her. Another was Altered, probaly for Privacy issues.

People said Carolyn was "Stuck up" to. Carol was Homecoming Queen friendliest girl there. She was a friend of Kirstens.{so was Karen and Joy)and Joy was friends with Bermadette.to and Liesl as well. They were all friends. Liesl was friends with Bernadette (till she murdered)..."Like I said" only a handful supported Bernadette in Orinda. Anymore the others moved on and (went on) with thier lives trying to put it all behind. Some will get on here and talk about it, to " where others just want to not discuss it, and go forward"... ( Kirsten was plain spoken) yet she teased alot as well. If Kirsten didn't like Bernadette " she would of told her" and never got in her car.

Our friend Marcie Fuller died not long ago, she was on the swim team with Kirsten, (they're up in Heaven together swimming)... :They both loved to swim".... Marcie was our Star swimmer. Bernadettes friend made snide remarks about Kirsten....She isn't well. she's skin and bones....She will pay. so will Bernadette. Kirstens friend's Diane and Stace they were just like Kirsten.. They were fun also. (Stacey is her name) we called her Stace. Im sure they miss Kirsten, (Diane was ger bff) Stace was close to her also. Stace was friends with Bernadette to. Diane (like Kirsten) was mutually aquainted with Bernadette... That bullying is just a roose for Bernadette. Kirsten by no means bullied her, she only showed off in front of her friends, teased Bernadette yeah, Bernadette took it so personal, "and it became personal".... Bern had low self esteem and took it to heart..... No reason for Murder.... She should of talked to Kirsten about it, and let her know it offended her. As for afraid Kirsten would tell she's weird, even if so, Bernadette could of transferred back to the Catholic School, " if she did that, she wouldn't have no popularity" or be in with the Bobbies. Well can't have your cake and eat it to. It'd probaly been better if Bernadette did go back to the Catholic school, she wouldn't of murdered and never been able to return to her hometown. (Ill bet she wishes now she had)... To late for that now....

Kirsten was extremely young, she was still a child, (who had her whole life ahead of her). They were friends also. A few girls on the Reunion blog said they felt singled out, and still hurt by the way they were treated by other Students at Miramonte. Thats the life in High School sometimes. Some fit right in, while others are excluded. Lot's of people struggled in High School, I felt I had to compete with the Homecoming Queen and (wasnt as good as she was)... She was sweet, I just felt I wasn't as worthy. I wasn't like Bernadette, I didn't obsess constantly over it. She stuck on it and couldn't get freed from it. Her mind was twisted then, its twisted now. Bernadette was dangerously obsessed with Kirsten obviously. She talked about Kirsten all the time. I never dreamed she would kill her, she was obsessed with her not liking her and seriously obsessed with being popular. I personally think Kirsten spotted she was "weird and eccentric" and threatened to expose her to the entire school, and Bernadette freaked out and panicked. There was a shooting near us at the Garlic Festival. Bernadette got on my nerves over her obsessions, it came to where I refused to talk to her, Id tell her I can't talk and hang up. Got bored with the continuous conversations,(I didn't tell people the conversation) it would of made matters worse. I wish I told Kirsten, maybe she'd be alive still, I didnt think Bernadette was dangerous, "just overly sensitive".... Cause Bernadette was gentle and talked with people and helped them, so I figured she just got her feelings hurt very badly. No one could put thier finger on who the killer was, we all thought it was Nancy and Jo. I wasn't really sure, it was terrifying, a killer loose, (the killer was among us all along). I was shocked, I never knew why Bernadette didn't think she was well liked, she was popular. She was insecure. "She was in the in crowd". She had a boyfriend to. He was shocked when he discovered she killed.

One felt she was invisible looking through a glass wall (watching people enjoy life at Miramonte), a few other's said (Snobs), well they didn't make the best choices to.... One went to a party and got drunk, and, " had sex with 6 guys from the football team) other's dresses (Goth). So they made different choices than Kirsten and all of us made, that's why they weren't (Socially Accepted). "They ser themselves apart".... Bernadette was accepted. She had a large group of friends,(I was one)... She wasn't the lonely girl the first movie portrayed. She had lots of money..... Her family was well to do, like Kirstens... House was just as nice, I feel she was jealous of all Kirsten accomplished, and she wanted to accomplish it all as well. She was no Outsider at all (Bernadette) that is. Kirsten was more popular and accomplished more. Bernadette couldn't accept it. Stac and Diane accepted the fact that "Kirsten was more popular" didn't bother them. Don't get me wrong, Stacey and Diane were both popular to. (Everyone liked them to). Kirsten was at the very top with the "Homecoming Queen" and "Homecoming Court".. She'd been on the Homecoming Court, if not, "Homecoming Queen" she was that popular. Kirsten we all loved her jokes, she was so funny.... She made us all laugh. She didn't really have any enemies, " she just didn't like the way some people acted" she didnt hate them. Kirsten didn't hate anyone... Her friend Joy was the life of a party to. She was very popular as well. They were very nice girls.. They had different ways of having fun, than those girls who had thier own way of fun, that set them apart (from the School)...

Those Students who say they don't want to come to Reunions, (then don't) get over it, were not in High School anymore, (we moved on) you all should to. It was over 30 years ago . lots of people dont recall you. Doesn't matter what Kitsten said to you. doesn't matter what anyone said, "that was then" (this is now). Well anyway (back to Kirsten) Im going to look for some pictures of her in my album and try and post a few. Got one of her sticking her tongue out, another, all of us on a trip to Washington DC, and amother ( Summer spent at the Costas home) with alot of us (then girlies). Mrs. Costaa let us girls be girls. She would get in on some of the fun. She would come in on Music and silly dance at times. Art was more quiet. I never had any problems with Art or Berit. Art made us all Breakfast one morning, (cooked alot of Pancakes). They were like mom and dad. That was the place to hang out the Costas's. No Bernadette.never really hung there. She went over there a few times with (Mutual friends). As for Kirsten. Bernadette wasn't one of her regular friends. Well Kirsten didn't have to accept her, or anyone she did'nt want to accept, she had enough friends as it was. She never thought about Bernadette that much. I was thinking about the Costas Summer's just the other day. "It was alot of fun". Her friend Joy she favors Tori Spelling. They could of added an extra and used her and have Tori play her, and Danica Mckellar play Kirsten. Joy was a friend of Bernadettes to. She was a live wire and alot of fun to.

Didn't believe it. Her good friend GK and LP were shocked as well..They never had anything to do with her after that. "They never wanted to ever see her again"... Another Stacy kept in touch ( not Kirsten and Dianes friend Stacy), this Stacy said she was always there for her. and what kind of a friend is she to turn her back on her. Berns BFF made it known she would always be there and she made herself an(Outcast), so did the other Stacy and she moved away. CN,Diane and Stacy B and Joy were all mad and upset. They said they trusted B, and she betrayed thier trust. They felt ypu murder once, you'll do it again!!!! CN was close to Kirsten to. "All those girls were alot like Kirsten". Diane and Kirsten were peas in a pod. They did prank call at times, They meant no harm by it. "Kirsten didnt crack a laugh". Diane left the room so she wouldn't roar laughing. It wasn't mean calls just calls like you won a trip for 2 to Hawaii. Your name was drawn from a Radio Station. I think some probaly knew it was a prank. There was no harm intended. Kirsten did help some of the lonely kids with low self esteem.. She cared alot. (Like I said) she wasn't in favor of stupidity, or, doing drugs, running loose with guys and men. She was tops, wanted to stay at the top to. Some of those girls were always in trouble, so Kirsten didn't want anything to do with them. Bernadette wasn't one of them, like I mentioned Bernadette got along with Teacher's, and did her work, and was "Respectful".... It is just a shame she made a terrible choice. (that forever changed her life)... You can only go so far, eventually you will get caught. Once people lose respect for you, it's very hard to gain it back, ( especially here in Orinda).

They were very friendly and liked everybody. Well you will never pkease everybody. Those girls were all sweet (including Kirsten). Kirsten was harder to get to know. But she loved people more than she hated them
