Nancy Kane before she turned "goth"
Nancy Kane, the teenager who is the real life inspiration of Monica in the movie A Friend to Die for and the girl who was "Heather Krane" in the Rolling Stone article. Here she is in 1982 before she went goth and was ostracized by her community. She was an equestrian and fit in very much with the Orinda scene. As high school rolled around she started dying and cutting her hair and dressing different. She just stopped talking to the popular clique and they stopped talking to her. Then after Kirsten was killed by Bernadette aka Jeannette the community the high school blamed Nancy. Thank God Bernadette was rightfully convicted. If it wasn't for the police work, Nancy could still be taking the blame for this murder.

You should work in the area of criminal profiling. Something I always wanted to do with my BA in Psychology. Very good investigative work!!
Thank you, it's taken me years to put this all together. I'm currently emailing Nancy now she is so sweet, I'll have a post on that conversation coming soon. She also describes her look as more Madonna or Flock of Seaguls not goth.
Now if someone like Aphrodite Jones would pick up the story. I don't read Rolling Stone for the very reason that shame of a "journalist" wrote that article. I am very cautious of the Lifetime movies I watch as well. I know that Kirsten's family has remained pretty silent about this but I hope that they see the sincerity of wanting to correct the lies about this story and lumping "bullying" where it does not belong.
Have you seen the post Jeannette wrote on her FB page to someone who asked her why she doesn't answer her questions?
Very strange! The person asking does not speak English well. Not sure what her specific questions are but just goes to show people from all over are interested in Bernadette's past.

I posted on her Facebook and she seems to be rude and deletes anything that has to do with her.past or If you mention kirsten she really gets uoset and deletes it
